Teriyaki Sauce

3/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 cup Sake or dry white wine
1 cup sugar
3 TBS ginger, grated or minced
3 cloves garlic, crushed

1. Put all inredients in a pan and bring to a boil
2. Simmer until sauce sets thick (about 1 hour)
4. If desired, strain the pieces of ginger and garlic
5. Baste on almost cooked chicken, hamburgers, meat or fish (be careful not to mix juice of meat in the teriyaki you aren't immediately using)
Tightly seal any remainder in a jar it keeps very well. Enjoy!
